Primary duties were to advise executive staff on technical matters, provide direction and hands-on support for HP enterprise systems, and manage the technical pre-sales staff.  Managed IT department until late 2010, including Windows 2000–2008 Server, and RHEL 5.1–6.0.  Projects included designing and programming internal contract-tracking system, as well as integration between it and existing accounting and CRM systems.

Technical activities include:

  • Wrote software in Ruby/Ruby on Rails versions 2.1 to 3.3, Javascript, PHP and Perl to support internal and external applications.

Primary responsibilities were to manage the Systems Technicians, as well as on-site work where more difficult issues arose. Provided the final level of technical escalation in the company, achieving 100% SLA compliance on customer contracts.  Other activities included writing PHP programs to assist with my technical pre-sales and information technology management jobs.

Systems managed included HP-UX on both PA-RISC and Itanium, Dell PowerEdge and HP ProLiant systems running both Windows Server 2000 and 2003, as well as Red Hat and Fedora Linux.  Provided some day-to-day maintenance on these systems, including patching, updates and hardware repair.

Primary responsibilities were to build and test HP-UX and MPE/iX servers, and provide field service for HP and EMC equipment for SourceDirect’s customers.  Activities included:

  • Server hardware troubleshooting and repair
  • HP-UX and MPE/iX operating system and software troubleshooting and patching.
  • HP-UX and MPE/iX-based installations from individual parts to turn-key solutions.
  • HP-UX software administration, including upgrades and patches for customers.
  • Microsoft windows NT 4 and Server 2000 administration and patching/maintenance.

Worked with HP equipment covering several generations from Nova-class (F, G, H, I-class) to K- and D-class, to A-, L- and N-class, to the Cell-based PA-RISC and Itanium (HP Integrity) systems.
